Period New England CT red earthenware crock. Wheel thrown most probably Hartford Connecticut or north eastern Conn. Decorated with manganese black splotches. The color and clear glaze are exceptional. This piece was lamped when found, the lamp parts have since been removed. The bottom was drilled when it was electrified. We show a picture of the base in one of the pictures. The crock has a line crack that runs from the drilled hole up the side two or three inches which does not affect the pieces strength or collector appeal. This crock is Measures 12 inches high, seven and one half inches across its base with a 5 and one quarter inches opening.
